IFSC world cup at Ratho and a CAC donation

4th October 2017

Categories CAC News Donations Fundraising

Thank you to everyone who made the weekend at EICA Ratho such a great one. We sold a fantastic amount of our lovely merchandise and gave away a large amount of money, what better way to spend a weekend?! The lovely girls from ‘ Money for old rope’ sold their rope products and some delicious home made cakes and donated all the proceeds to the charity, they made a grand total of £393.49  a brilliant amount ! I guess that the cleaners at Ratho had a vacuum full of cake crumbs that weekend. A huge thank you must go to Adam Cruttenden the centre manager and all his staff for making us welcome. We look forward to coming back in April 2018 for the Youth Championships.

A donation of £25,000 was made to the BC Cancer Foundation. The cheque was handed over by CAC trustee and professional climber Shauna Coxsey and it was received on behalf of the foundation by long time CAC supporter, Kimanda Jarzebiak. This is the second donation this year , the first being to the cancer research unit at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield earlier in the season.

We had a weekend full of talking to people about CAC ( our favourite subject ) and watching the awesome competitors climb at a level most of us can only dream of. All this topped off by far too much cake made it a weekend to remember . Our next outing will be to Kendal Mountain Festival on the 17th November, again with a stall full of our lovely goodies to entice you all. Come along and say Hi and add a new colour to your collection. Don’t forget that we now have the children’s sizes available complete with the smiley face on the back and we also have extra large in some of the ladies colours. See you there !
