Climbers Against Cancer are proud to announce we’ve have made our third donation to cancer research at the IFSC World Youth Championships this weekend.

Following on from the hugely successful and fantastic donations on behalf of the climbing community as a whole at the Australian National Lead Championships in Sydney, Australia and the 1st round of the IFSC Climbing World Cup in Briançon, France, we have made our 3rd contribution at the IFSC World Youth Championships in Central Saanich, Canada.

The cheque with a value of $15,000 (£10,000) was handed over to BC Cancer Foundation representative Alyssa Grace at the event which took place at the very impressive Boulders Climbing gym with almost 500 athletes from all corners of the globe converging on the equally beautiful Vancouver Island.

Sean McColl IFSC Athletes representative and Climbers Against Cancer founder John Ellison where at the event to make the donation on behalf of the charity along with many of the young supporters who attended the event.

Prior to the presentation, Kimanda Jarzebiak had this to say, “The Boulders Climbing Gym know that the climbing community is a strong and compassionate one, and this is why we are happy to promote Climbers Against Cancer at this event. Visit the Information/Boulders Climbing gym booth in the marketplace to learn more, and to purchase your t-shirt to show support. Right after semi-finals in difficulty on Monday the 19th (around 12:30pm), we’ll invite everyone with a t-shirt to join us for John’s special presentation. John, thanks for making the long journey to Canada!”
