Climb 8,848m for Everest Climbers Against Cancer

17th May 2024

Categories CAC News Fundraising

If you think about Everest you think about CLIMBING! and of course one way to undertake the 8,848m Everest Climbers Against Cancer Challenge is to head out to Nepal and bag the real thing – here’s a photo of CAC Athlete Ambassador Kenton Cool doing just that – registering his incredible EIGHTEENTH ASCENT OF EVEREST! and showing off his CAC T-Shirt… More on Kenton’s Instagram

If that all seems a bit much (and let’s face it, Kenton is in a class of his own!) there are plenty of other ways you could clock up the height gain!

How about getting together with a bunch of mates and doing laps at your local wall (You are sure to find a welcoming reception at one of our CAC Centres) – Maybe in a 24hour period, or over the course of the month of June? Your choice of Marathon or Sprint!

Alternatively, take your Everest Challenge to your local crag and see if you can rack up the routes – maybe getting your local climbing club involved. The Rucksack Club are going to try to scale Everest by the Seaside during the course of their annual Gogarth meet on Anglesey – you can read about it here Gogarth Everest Challenge

Remember, when it comes down to it, we are doing this for the benefit of others, with all our fundraising proceeds being directed to cancer research facilities through the world. To get involved, register your fundraiser as a part of our Everest Climbers Against Cancer JustGiving campaign HERE. If you’d rather stand on the sidelines and cheer, you can also make a donation HERE. Just a penny for every 10m, with gift aid, will see a tenner going to a great cause.

As an extra incentive, every challenge registered on the JustGiving campaign will receive a unique Everest Climbers Against Cancer T-Shirt featuring this logo:
